Having a camera in your hand changes everything. It is a tool of mindful awareness. A way to slow the orbit down and to notice. Everything. The small but constant changes of light. The way eyes soften when the subject is comfortable enough to allow themself to be seen. How self-consciousness can be seen on the tips of the fingers and the bend of the knees. And how the camera can connect or separate depending on how it is used. Doubt, excitement, sadness and serendipity seen in shadows and shapes and the way the light bends around the edges.

ABOUT Adam

Black and White photo of Adam Whiting looking down and smiling.

I have had a camera in my hands for well over a decade. What started as a way to capture my yoga practice for social media turned quickly into a passion that captivated my unending desire for artistic expression. I began spending time apprenticing under photographers who taught me both the technical framework of photography, but also how to forget the rules and create art that asks questions, but doesn’t give the answers.

What began as shooting other yoga teachers in their favourite poses has blossomed into a career of capturing humans (and dogs) showcasing their honesty, their love, their emotion and their humanity.

Soon thereafter, I connected my love of camping, hiking and nature and have been spending my spare moments exploring the regions of Australia, collecting and curating a portfolio of landscape photography.

Reach out and send me a message and let me know what you want to create.
